The VLF Strada electric scooter launches in India with two variants offering up to 250 km range, entering a competitive market of e-scooters priced from ₹1.20 lakh.

VLF is stepping into the Indian electric scooter market with its new model, the Strada. Previously a lesser-known entity, VLF's entrance is marked by recent introductions in the country, including the Tennis electric scooter and the Mobster 135 ICE scooter. The latest addition to its growing electric lineup, the Strada, aims to appeal to Indian consumers with its dual variants and notable features.

Pricing and Variants
The VLF Strada is available in two distinct variants: the City and the Max. The pricing for these models starts at ₹1,19,999 for the City, while the Max variant comes in at ₹1,55,500 (ex-showroom). The key difference between these variants lies in their battery capacities and the associated riding ranges. The Strada City integrates a single 2.16kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, while the Strada Max benefits from a dual battery setup, providing a total of 4.32kWh.
| Variant | Battery | Claimed IDC Range | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strada City | 2.16kWh | 130 km | ₹1,19,999 |
| Strada Max | 4.32kWh | 250 km | ₹1,55,500 |
For charging, VLF claims that the City can be charged in approximately three hours, while the Max will take about six hours when using a 10A charger. It’s important to note that actual riding ranges might vary depending on numerous factors including traffic, riding style, load, road conditions, and temperature.
Bookings for the VLF Strada open through Motohaus dealerships, with a reservation token priced at ₹999 for the City variant and ₹1,999 for the Max. Deliveries are slated to begin in November.

Powertrain and Performance
Both versions of the Strada share a common BLDC hub motor that generates a peak power of 4.8 kW and a peak torque of 34 Nm, allowing for three riding modes:
- Eco: Maximum speed capped at 45 km/h
- City: Maximum speed of 65 km/h
- Sport: Maximum speed reaches 85 km/h
A reverse mode is also offered to aid in parking and maneuvering in tight spots. Additionally, the entire motor and battery system boasts an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance, alongside a commendable motor efficiency of 94%.
Design and Features
The VLF Strada presents a sleek, sporty design with a lifted rear profile, a split-seat setup, and a distinctive transparent front windscreen. Key design elements include:

- 5-inch TFT display offering essential ride data
- Keyless ignition for enhanced convenience
- USB Type-A and Type-C charging ports
- A spacious front storage pocket

With a seat height of 780 mm and a ground clearance of 175 mm, the Strada measures a 1,350 mm wheelbase and has a kerb weight of 98 kg, capable of accommodating loads over 150 kg.
Wheels, Suspension, and Brakes
The scooter rides on a 16-inch front wheel paired with a 14-inch rear wheel. The 31 mm hydraulic front forks and adjustable twin hydraulic rear shocks are designed to handle varied road conditions effectively. Stopping power is assured by a 240 mm front disc brake coupled with a three-piston caliper, and a 220 mm rear disc with a two-piston caliper. Notably, the Strada employs a Combi-Brake System (CBS) instead of ABS, which can impact rider confidence during braking maneuvers.
Colors and Competitors
VLF offers the Strada in four enticing colors: Carbonio Black, Luna White, Titanio Grey, and Urbano Silver, alongside optional luggage accessories that can be mounted on the rear carrier.
As it enters the marketplace, the VLF Strada competes against other electric scooters in the similar price range such as the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak C2501, and the Ather 450 series. Each competitor brings distinct features and performance metrics, making it crucial for buyers to evaluate their specific needs and preferences as they consider the Strada.
